I MISS HAVING ICE CREAM WITH ELIA AND EVE

Elia and Eve having ice cream with their parents on another occasion.

I’m grateful for the memories of deep joy with Elia & Eve. Just before I left for Manila, I had a date with them at the Richmond Centre Mall. Below is our time together caught in my video.

Wishing they are with us here in Mindanao as we celebrate Christmas.

ON BEING AN ‘OPA’ TO KIANA, ELIA, KAYA, AND EVE

Being. Applied to my own journey in life, ‘being’ is an exaggeration. I have not attained ‘being’ yet. I’m ‘still becoming.’ Becoming a servant of God. Becoming a servant to the people. Becoming a husband. Becoming a father. Becoming a grandfather.

This last becoming — becoming a grandfather — excites me the most. The more I get to know my grandchildren, the more I am motivated to seek further enhancement as a faith-based peacebuilding worker. It’s for their future that I want to contribute for the betterment of this world we live in. This is consistent with my ultimate commitment to God and the DivineReign: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

Opa is a German term for grandfather.

I’m grateful for Kiana, Elia, Kaya, and EveBear.

ELECTRONICALLY SERENADING MY GRAND CHILDREN

grandkids2012

This photo was taken during our family pictorial in 2012. Joji and I terribly miss our children and grand children in Canada.

Me and my grandchildren were exchanging songs while bonding through FaceTime.

When an ‘opa’ (grandpa) like me misses his grand-daughters (Kiana, Elia, Kaya, EveBear), craziness becomes normal.

In front of my grandchildren, I learn to ‘Let It Go’ and enjoy liberation!
