PAR 81 BY 2015

TO ESTABLISH ONE PAR COMMUNITY IN EACH OF THE 81 PROVINCES IN THE PHILIPPINES BY 2015

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This is our 5-year peace and reconciliation ministry plan--an initial expression of our love for our people. (Click on it to download a PDF file.)

::  We have committed our energies to help in the transformational church-resourcing and peace-building ministries among the people of this beautiful, but conflicted, archipelago.

::  The current development in our ministry is a practical articulation of our Peace Theology—that is, advancing the Gospel of Shalom as personified in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.  Shalom is understood as harmony with the Creator (spiritual transformation), harmony with our Being (psycho-social transformation), harmony with Others (socio-political transformation), and harmony with the Creation (economic-ecological transformation).

::  Our team envisions to initiate a Peace and Reconciliation (PAR) Movement nationwide by establishing one PAR Community in every province in this country.  That would be 81 PAR Communities by December 31, 2015!

::  Our team is committed to equip and train spiritual leaders—who have deep love for God, genuine concern for people, and firm commitment to justice and peace—to lead this PAR Movement.

::  Imagine.  By December 31, 2015, each of our 81 provinces will have a circle of leaders called PAR Communities!  They would serve as the catalysts to organize PAR Teams in their municipalities or cities.  These PAR Teams, in turn, would serve as conflict transformation volunteers in their respective families, churches, neighbourhoods, barangays, cities or municipalities.  The PAR Teams would also get involved in PAR Programs that are relevant to their specific context.

::  God willing, by January 01, 2016, the 81 PAR Communities in the Philippines would advance as a Peace and Reconciliation Movement with an integrated framework for peace-building, who are organized in partnership with various parts of the Body of Christ, who are mobilized to do ministries of justice and peace in the name of Jesus, and who will lovingly serve all the peoples of our land unconditionally regardless of religion, ethnicity, or political ideology, to the end that our land will experience holistic transformation!
